Honestly: it can. Any extra glass in front of a lens can add a very slight flare in strong direct light or at night. In normal daylight use most people see no difference. If it bothers you, return it within seven days.
Does it stop the lens cracking?
It reduces the risk of scratches and takes the impact on the ring. It does not make the camera drop-proof, and we will not claim it does.
Can I use it with a case?
Yes, with most cases including ours. A case with a very tight camera cut-out may not clear the added thickness — check the cut-out before fitting.
